Ventured into the big city this morning...

...not a straightforward trip...

We usually do the Park and Ride tram trip from Middlewood - but there are roadworks for rail repairs so there was a substitute bus... No info - so off we set on a magical mystery tour ;) 
The bus stop was some way from the tram stop at Shalesmoor - and predictably a tram pulled away when it was obvious that loads of people were about to arrive from a linking bus... we missed it by about three yards ;( 
Lovely lunch in the cathedral café though, then, shopping accomplished, we returned for coffee and cake ;) 
The city centre is also all dug up for repairs and building works - but there are lots of colourful tubs to cheer the place up...

Once home we did a quick whizz round the block as the forecast for the weekend is pretty dire! You have both outings as a contrast in my flowery collage for the day ;)
