Echinops Sphaerocephalus

We, D and I, didn't know this is a thistle, we rather thought it to be an allium. But I compared the ball of flowers with pictures of the glandular globe-thistle and must say Google might be right.
At least the plant was at least hip-high. And almost in the middle of nowhere, so really wild.
