Catsel and Gromit

With apologies to the Bros Grimm.

Storm Antoni arrived today, the first named storm of the year to cross the Atlantic. Heavy rain all day, so no outing for me. Had to be a still life.

Catsel is a trinket from Egypt given to me by an Egyptian colleague in Muscat. I wonder where he is now? Gromit, well, the lady who made him is local, specialising in pottery and ceramics. I bought him from her husband a few years ago at a ceramics fair in Loughborough marketplace. He assured me she would be horrified if she knew I thought it was Gromit from the cartoon series Wallace and Gromit, but I do think he has a distinct resemblance.

George rang to remind me that it's Edward's birthday next week and to suggest a suitable present. How can I tell him that I prefer to use my desktop for most tasks such as clicking on a link to an Amazon wish list. WhatsApp doesn't cut it.

Anyway, I have confirmed that Len and I will be taking William out next Friday.

I'd better go and peel and trim the ginger and garlic to go with the prawns tonight.
