Ass Kickin' Chill Fixins

Enough chilli mix to make a gallon of tex-mex chilli. Direct from the USofA to boot. Beans were soaked overnight last night and I have to say I'm sure there is a gallon volume just of beans! With the addition of onion, tinned tomatoes (bleugh!) and a handful of other things and four hours in the oven (on 150°C whilst we went to the shops) we had more chilli than you can shake the proverbial stick at. Very different to our normal Lupe Pinto chilli but very nice. I went for about half the packet of habenero powder as I 've had Ass Kickin' chilli sauce before and they warn against using the whole packet as being very hot and when these guys say hot they mean hot (in fact they mean Kick Yo' Ass Hot!).

Adding to the general pile of goodness was a letter from Lloyds telling Jen her PPI claim had been successful to the tune of several thousands, which lightened the mood for our trip to the farmers market where we spent a bit more than anticipated originally, but hey we deserve it :) Pork cheeks were in abundance as was venison fillet and we picked up some oysters to go with the champers I bought Jen for getting the job.

All in all it was a very exciting day, marred only slightly by Jen staying up till 5::30 Am playing dragons but I think she maybe deserved it :)
