Strong Winds Inhibit Morris Dancers at Sidmouth

It sounds like a crossword clue but that’s what happened at Sidmouth today. We went to the Folk Festival , where the strong wind and high tide this morning hindered the usual sea front dancing. There was plenty going on in the town though, and the usual crowds and dancing for all comers at Blakemore Gardens. We met up with Jacqui’s brother from Kennet Morris. They weren’t dancing today as is traditional for them on the Saturday. Resting and imbibing day. As far as buskers we’re concerned there seemed to be plenty of talented child progidies. We had a great day just enjoying the atmosphere, and wandering about. There are scores of blue plaques, and a small Museum in a telephone box. This featured Pelham Puppets, something Jacqui always wanted as a child as some of her better off primary school class mates had them. She didn’t get one because it wouldn’t have been a priority at home. Story of most of our childhoods.Poor thing. (Extra) She got close to them today at least. Also  in extras there is a poster explaining the history of Pelham puppets and the origin of this micro museum.
I went mad with the extras today.
