Friends, friendship

As lonely as I am, I am reading. I found Henri Adams (of all people !) and am reading his autobiography that he didn't write (as far as I know) but that was written posthumously (if I got it right) and that won the Pulitzer Prize (if I got that right) and that I am reading on my desktop because for some reason it isn't uploading onto my Kobo reader.

This picture is the cover of one of the several editions and it caught my eye because of the cat  o f  c o u r s e !  I have tried to find out who made the painting but have not yet found any information of it.
