It’s all go!

This morning we had the electricians L and D here putting up the bathroom mirror, which is fab, updating power sockets and installing a power socket for the big fridge downstairs.  It was so good to have all those jobs done.  C, whose quoting for the double glazing came and looked at one of the French doors and confirmed that he’d be able to do what we wanted.  He also had a long chat to MrMacD about the best way of approaching the double glazing, which would be cheaper than the way we’d originally talked about.  That’s a result!  He also looked at the other French door and the windows in the main guest bedroom, talked to us about how these two sets of windows could have double glazing added, took some photos and said that he would talk to Oamaru Glass for us.  Such a kind and helpful thing to do.  The garage door man came as well and spent some time looking at the door and the space, taking measurements and photos and talking about how he would approach the job.  The washing got hung out on the line and a couple of hours later I had to dash out and bring it in as it started to rain.  It went onto a drying rack in the study area and that’s where it’s stayed.

After lunch we drove into town to buy one or two things at The Real Food Pantry - steel cut oats being the main item.  I’ve been so missing proper porridge.  Then we went to Mitre10 to buy a cupboard to go in our walk in wardrobe, where the space isn’t particularly efficient, an electric sander and other items that we need to restore the furniture we’ve bought from The Waitaki Trading Post.  It’ll keep us busy for days … and days, and days.

MrMacD got stuck in when we arrived back home and put the new cupboard together while I cooked supper.  After supper he installed it in the walk in wardrobe while I cleaned up.  Tomorrow I can sort out the items that don’t yet have a home, put them into the cupboard and we’ll be a lot more organised.

The sunrise was rather lovely this morning, and then later there were some interesting clouds when I looked out the kitchen window.  They’re the only photos I managed to take today.
