Cowaramup

I found this apron at the back of a drawer, bought on a caravanning trip to Western Australia in 2010 and forgotten. Cowaramup is in the Margaret River region of WA. The name has nothing to do with cows, though it has resulted in lots of bovine puns and fibre glass cows and calves around the town. The name is Aboriginal and means ‘place of the purple crowned lorikeet’. The ‘-up’ ending that characterises many place names in WA is Aboriginal and means ‘place’.
