Under attack.

This large old tree stump is under serious fungal assault.
Not sure what kind of fungi this is but when I have time I will look in our fungi books.


Later. Done some research and fairly sure this is Meripilus giganteus. Found in large quantities around the base of Beech and Oaks. Also with clumps several feet away feeding on roots and that was the case here.
Common name Giant polypore.
