Memories

We have had a quiet day. N is not seeing very well the day after his cataract procedures yesterday with one eye is still troubling him. We are questioning the wisdom of having both eyes done at the same time which is what the NHS said he should have.
So he cannot read or see his iPad. The tv has been on all afternoon as he can get the gist of what is going on.
This morning we spent time remembering our two years spent in Nairobi, 1972-1974. I have been reading the letters out loud and it is so interesting! There are amusing stories about the children, (5 and 7), descriptions of our safaris and in general the way of life of ex-pats in Africa. There is quite a lot that we hadn’t remembered. I am so grateful to my mother-in-law who kept the 91 letters that we (mostly me!) wrote home to them. Nowadays we would be communicating by email etc, and no record would remain.
