Irreverency

So much religious art around here.
Much of it is a bit crap when it comes to technical artistry.
But you can’t criticise religion. So it gets revered.
It’s still really interesting.
And I love it.
So many paintings of Mary with Jesus on her lap. She must’ve got fed up with sitting!
By the 17th century they seem to have sorted themselves out as painters.
