At Long Last!

At long last I have seen and photographed a butterfly!  It’s been a long time coming and I was beginning to think I’d miss out on doing so this year.  That it is one I have rarely ever seen let alone captured on camera is an added bonus.  The Comma is a very attractive butterfly indeed and I’m delighted to be able to tick it off my butterfly list.

Mrs CBL and I had driven down into Royal Deeside to visit Crathes Castle, the jewel in the crown of the National Trust properties in Aberdeenshire.  We had a great time wandering through the walled garden, then the recently opened rose garden and finally one of the trails that take you round parts of the castle grounds.
