Let's Do The Apo-Calypso

On This Day In History
2003: Temperatures in the U.K. top 100 degrees Fahrenheit for the first time ever during European heatwave

Quote Of The Day
"There is good evidence that last year's European heatwave was influenced by global warming. It resulted in 26,000 premature deaths and cost $13.5 billion."
(Tony Blair)

The world is warming up? Well, let's take a cruise on one of the world's largest luxury liners, the Spectrum Of The Seas. We can even contribute to the pollution as we soak up the rays.

Sorry to be a party-pooper. Honestly, I have to admit to being more than a little golly-gee-wow about this amazing vessel. It's currently docked in Kobe. It's basically a floating, extremely large luxury hotel, complete with a bungee-jump, free-fall experience, a climbing wall and a huge 360 degrees observation gondola called the North Star. Just astonishing.

I hope the passengers all have a wonderful holiday and don't get too sunburned on deck.
