Grass-covered walkway

I went for a short walk after work today.  I saw this sidewalk with grass coming up through the spaces between the bricks. It looks denser than it is when you look at it from this angle.

Work's been really busy lately. A co-worker was fired last week. She is a great worker and strong editor. But apparently someone didn't like that she missed a few things and had her and a couple of other people sacked. We're all in shock and scared.
