What A Day...

This morning I went to Sandgate parkrun on my own as Ruben and David had both decided last not to do parkrun this morning... It was a beautiful Sunrise too... It's also my eldest son's 36th birthday...
How quickly the day changed when I arrived home...

Spare a thought for Ruben tonight...
The other week he managed to purchase a re-sale ticket for the FIFA Womens World Cup quarter final here in Brisbane before we knew who was going to be playing... He was so happy to have been able to purchase a ticket... Then he was excited when it was confirmed that the Matildas would be playing in that match...
Rewind to yesterday afternoon and Ruben arrives home from school and says he's got a bit of a sore throat... So straight away David's onto all the vitamins etc to nip it in the bud... No parkrun for Ruben as sleep is required...
I go off to parkrun and return to David telling me that Ruben wasn't good, he'd said he had a headache, then at one point he actually couldn't see.. Which had them both scared... To top it all off he vomited, which isn't something Ruben usually does when sick... He knows he's not good...
So he puts his ticket for tonights game up for re-sale... It's sold pretty quickly as you can imagine...
He's also cancelled his refereeing on Sunday...

I'm gutted for him... He was so looking forward to going to watch the Matildas play...

Why is life so cruel at times...

Today also ends a 410 day running streak for Ruben...

Tonight Ruben and I watched the entire game together but in different corners of the room...
WOW what a challenging game that was...
Full-time - Australia 0 v 0 France...
Extra time - Australia 0 v 0 France...
Penalty shoot out - Australia 7 v 6 France...

Ruben has also lost his voice so listening to him trying to cheer was heart breaking... He was a little emotional when the Matildas won...

Now he will be in hibernation and fingers crossed he's better by Tuesday as Tuesday night he has his yr12 Formal...
