Carn an Tuirc

A day out with the Highways Hillwalking Club. The bus dropped us off a mile or so beyond the Glenshee Ski Centre and three of us headed up Carn an Tuirc. Halfway between Carn an Tuirc and Cairn of Claise, Justin left us so that he could include two extra Munros (Tom Buidhe and Tolmount) in his itinerary. Emily and I decided we were happy with the four in the original plan.

The weather was excellent, just a tiny bit of rain and mist when we got to the top of Glas Maol. The views were extensive, the Cairngorms looking enticing and also the hills west of the A93. And the ridge to Creag Leacach was an unexpected delight after all the plateau-walking that had preceded it.

Back to the Ski Centre for a cup of tea, then the bus home.
