Little chance for me to get to a more traditional landscape, Berlin is really quite flat and full of buildings. The view from the Kienberg over Marzahn is quite nice though. The Kienberg was originally only 50m high, a leftover pile from the last glacial. Rubble, rubbish and material from the surrounding building sites added another 50m.

We visited the Gardens of the World park. The park first opened in 2017 and features different gardens from around the world. I particularly liked the oriental ones. The place was nicely busy, lots of families which is not surprising given the many play parks. We also found some interesting wildlife. The extra shows a knopper gall which I hadn't seen before. There were quite a few of them. The development of the wasp is quite complicated as it involves two stage with two different kinds of oaks.

We took the cable car to the top of the hill and enjoyed the views. A set of three helicopters buzzed over us on their way into town. Presumably some politicians or someone else important on their way into town.
