The Pensioner

We whistled along to Newhaven to that fish shop. So I cooked a late lunch! There were two fishcakes, a poached egg, and even asparagus. Noteworthy.
Then up town - first up, to Stills, to the opening of the first exhibition in Scotland dedicated to the work of Prague-born, UK-based photographer, Markéta Luskačová. And very good it is too, if I’m any judge. Ahem.
Then a quick show over at the City Cafe - a selectionée of women comediènnes. Two of them were rubbish, the compere was plain awful but two were quite passable. You pays your money, I guess.
Then to the Lyceum for official festival stuff. As Far as Impossible by Comédie de Genève. Oh, very good indeed, but hard work for two very solid hours as a lot of it was in French and some in Portuguese and the translations were way up there above the actors’ heads. And the old eyeballs had to flit back and forward. The drumming though, that was plain tremendous. That's probably a gross insult. The percussive sounds. The soundscape. Stuff for the ears.
