A veritable military operation to get out the door…we were on the beach by 9.30am. Low tide, warm with some sunshine and loads of golden sand…guess which clot misread their own hand writing!! We had a lovely couple of hours playing…I’d expected some tide pools to splash around in but there were none today so we went in the sea instead. He was a little reluctant to start with but soon got brave…and more than a little wet! Sandcastle building and wrecking; the bucket was filled with rocks and gravel several times; names were etched in the sand…all in great fun. We headed back to the water before going home, by which time the tide was coming in quite quickly…he was having great fun trying to stop the waves, with little success and eventually landed on his bottom (see extra). Plenty of sand around but the only sounds were the gentle crashing of the waves, a few seabirds and the shrieks of delight from a small boy having the best fun…oh and maybe the sloshing of water in his wellies!

He was stripped on the doormat once home and put straight in the bath, after lunch we played in the garden and my brother came for a flying visit on his way to see Mum. Then the rain came so the rest of the afternoon was spent watching Bluey until he laid his head on my knee and fell fast asleep…at which point the only sound was the pattering of rain outside. A perfect day!

Thanks to loulou164 for hosting Mono Monday this month.
