Deer, The Newt

A refreshing walk at the Newt . The stags were very close to the path - bobbing their heads up and down - we wondered if they were establishing some kind of hierarchy before the rut . 

We were on tenterhooks about the baby - she was born successfully this afternoon although my nephew’s wife lost a lot of blood as she is such a big baby - 10lbs 7oz ! Her Mum was taken to the HDU overnight . But all is well now .
