Acts of deliberate notice

Lizard friends!

It was a humid day and I was heading out on my lunch break. I went to one of my usual places and as I was heading up the path a fast motion at the side caught my eye. I stopped, and on a rock sat a lizard! I crouched and watched it for a short while and then slowly another crept out to join it.

These beautiful creatures were totally unconcerned about a strange human just a couple of feet away. They were happy basking in the sunlight and occasionally flickering a tongue at a passing ant.

Honourable mention to the beautiful grasshopper exploring a leaf nearby.
