In the Shade

On our regular trip up to East Devon I just had time for an hours walk on Mutter's Moor and saw this sheep enjoying a rest in the shade. Mutter's Moor apparently derives it's name from Abraham Mutter an 18th century log merchant and turf cutter. He allegedly supplemented his income with a bit of smuggling and was an associate of the infamous and colourful smuggler Jack Rattenbury from Beer whose diary was published as the Memoirs of a Smuggler.
