‘Alongside the Festival’

Walked down Edinburgh’s Royal Mile and neighbouring streets where the Festivals had created a carnival atmosphere, with a host of little stalls and noisy performers and brings groups touting their shows hidden amongst the huge crowds of tourists.

I have tried to give a flavour of this carnival atmosphere in the extras, but the main photo, taken next to a cafe just a few yards from the Royal Mile, conveys - quite strikingly - a rather different picture…
