St Giles' Cathedral

Up to Edinburgh for a fringe production with Clare and Jonathan and before the show we went for a wee wander and ended up here at St Giles' Cathedral.

It's a fascinating building and the external and internal design is stunning with so many stories being depicted thru the architecture and the stain glass windows. 

We would often have a discussion regarding the functionality of a "New Building" compared to the beauty of an old building and I think there is a lot to be said for the beauty that used to be so prolific in older buildings that we miss today.

Functionality has its uses but beauty will always outshine it.
