NZ Autumn 2024

By AndrewNZ

Jurassic coast.

A trip today to Lyme Regis and the Jurassic Cliffs looking for fossils so armed with hammers we headed for the rocks, it was more like a chain gang on hard labour!
We had a good hour or so hammering away but came away with no finds we did meet a French Geologist who is a professional fossil hunter and he said that he had spent all day there yesterday with just a single find. We ask him for advice and he replied "go home this place gets too many people". We had given up by this time but he made us laugh.

The Extra is one of the larger examples that is scattered around and too heavy for someone to remove.

More crabbing this evening with different bait we had quite a few then it seemed they went to bed as we got none!

A warm day with a high of 23.
