Wonderful Walney

M feeling off colour ( but ok later ) so Fletch and I went for our walk without him.

I decided to go to Walney Island as its months since weve been there.

I drove to the south end where it was quieter. The land is raised a little higher there and there are the remnants of cliffs. Mum told me years ago that they were much higher. ( prior the the 2nd world war ) There are  signs of a lot of erosion .

It was windy but the sun was shining and it was warm. A lovely day especially as Fletch was so full of energy.

The tide was in so no sandy beach to walk along but  the bank was a delight, covered in wild flowers.

Extra shows the view north with a glimpse of the Lake District hills in the distance. Too hazy for a good view today.

Extra shows an old wooden and rusty  post mostly eroded away . I've no idea what it was once used as. But someone has made a little memorial for their dog.
It is a popular place for dog walkers.
