Abstract Thursday: Food

If you don't think this "food" looks very appetising, you'd be right! I'd not quite decided what to blip today for Ingeborg's AT challenge...then I noticed that this bin was full (we keep it under the kitchen sink for food offcuts, skins, peelings, tea bags etc to go in the garden compost bin). I was about to take it out to empty it when I thought, "Hang on...that would do nicely as an abstract food subject, in a bin with a rather abstract shape". Blip done - no fartnarkling needed.

It's been a busy day as we took Son#2 into the local Freeman Hospital Cardiology Unit first thing this morning for some more treatment for the congenital heart condition he was born with (almost 37 years ago). They saved his life when he was just a few days old and he generally keeps well but is at risk of the sudden onset of an abnormal heart rhythm (and this has happened on a few occasions over the last 20 years). He featured on my blip back in December 2018 when he had an tiny heart monitor implant inserted.

Replacing that implant was part of today's plan as the old one was no longer working, and that was done quickly and easily. The plan was also to perform some ablation treatment to reduce the risk of further episodes of rhythm disturbance, but early in the "cardiac mapping" process it became evident that they'd need some different equipment to complete the process. This means that he'll have to go back again sometime soon (probably mid-September) for this to be done. A nuisance, especially as he lives 300 miles away in Bath, but it'll be best to get the job done properly.
