Coniston

It felt luxurious not having to race out of bed to beat any rain like my Welsh trip. I had a cup of tea in bed and returned again with breakfast. That bed is too cosy but I did manage to be on my way by 8.30.

The route I planned headed over towards Ambleside and then south past the Randy Pike, through Hawkeshead and cutting across some lumps and bumps to the southern tip of Coniston to head back to Beryl.

It wasn’t as sunny as forecast and the hills looked moody but it’s made up for it this afternoon. A perfect 21 degrees. Sarah is close by in their van and came for a cuppa and a chat which was really lovely.

I’ve then indulged in a campsite pizza. Fantastic!
