Stuff and Nonsense

R Newett, Stone Mason, Blists Hill Victorian Town

Backblip

Mum wanted to go to Ironbridge today and it was the perfect day for it - not too hot, no breeze and no rain, so off we went. After a short stop at the bridge itself (see extras), we then moved on to Blists Hill Victorian Town, which was an outdoor "museum" showing how people lived in Victorian Times. I really enjoyed it and would have happily spent way more time there taking pictures and reading the boards. There were lots of people in fancy dress explaining their role in the town and you could even go to the bank an change up money to pre-decimal currency to pay for stuff in the town.
This is Mr Newett who was a Stone Mason and my brother, who's an engineer, spent ages talking to him about engines and ballast and other "man" stuff :)
At 4pm we went to Clockwork Escapes to do two escape rooms - one for the 6 adults and one for my 4 nieces. Needless to say, we finished earlier than them(but only because there was more of us, they said!) and they just screamed very loudly a lot. We could hear them from our room - it was hilarious!
One of my nieces who had never done an escape room before, got so freaked out about the small size of the room that they had to leave it unlocked and open a crack, which rather defeats the object of the exercise. But they enjoyed it anyway. I'm not sure she would do another one though!!
