And I found another beautiful butterfly - I think this is a male Holly Blue. It just fluttered down and settled on a few crunchy leaves for me, and then opened its wings in the warmth of the afternoon sun. Reading my new butterfly book I think the reason we have so many of these delightful blue butterflies is because they lay their eggs on holly (1st brood) and ivy (second brood) and we have both growing in the garden.
Picked a load of blackberries this morning. I shall add them to some apple fallings and make a pie.
Cleared another big space in the garden earlier.
