M is for Malpas

Our latest stop on the A - Z tour of Cornwall was to the picturesque riverside village of Malpas.

As we had the evening off together and the weather is still so nice, we decided to jump in the car and go for an evening beverage at The Heron Inn at Malpas, just a short distance from Jules' house.

Situated along the bank of the Truro River, Malpas is about a mile outside Truro city. It is here that the rivers Truro and Tresillian converge.

The Heron does a fantastic range of food and although we had only gone for a quick drink, we soon ended up ordering some food.... Warm chocolate pot with strawberries to dip and clotted cream... Yum!! Well I say yum, Jules scoffed the lot!! I did get them especially for him though :)

The river looked very pretty with the tide in and the fading sunlight reflecting on it's surface. The picture doesn't really do it justice! A lovely place for a relaxing drink.

We had a browse of the rest of the menu while we were there and decided that we will have to come back one sunny day and sample their scrummy looking dishes and maybe take one of the passenger boat trips down the river to St Mawes.
