Mother & Son’s Ruin

Watched the match, well done to Spain they deserved to win.
Thank you Lionesses for promoting women’s football in my nation and making it easier for the next generation of girls to aspire to play football at the highest level.

When l taught in primary children l was the only teacher (in my school) who actually did PE alongside my pupils and demonstrated everything l expected the children to do.
I went on to obtain a football coaching level with the aim of introducing girls to play football . I certainly hope things have evolved since then.

This afternoon Tim and l went to make our own gin.
Adele doesn’t drink gin so went on a dog walk with Peggy.
Had a great time and learned a lot.
We chose Juniper,  Coriander Seed and Angelica root for our essential ingredients.
Added fresh lemon and lime peel for the citrus element.
For the herbal and floral tones we included Thyme, Elderflower and Bayleaf.
Finally popped in some almonds and pink peppercorns to our Kettle before adding the pure vodka.
We kept the temperature at 80°C until our mix condensed and distilled into another container, we tasted ‘the head’ ( that’s my main photograph) which was a very intense flavour and then diverted the rest of our brew into a jug to cool.
Then we transferred our botanical blend into a bottle, diluted it with water and labelled it with our chosen name.
How did it taste? …
I’ll let you  know in a month as that is when our gin will be at it’s optimum.
