Bridges

Tilikum Crossing Bridge (foreground) and Ross Island Bridge, photographed while driving across the Marquam Bridge.  I don't like the Marquam, but it was the route we happened to take across town as we headed to PDX after lunch.  The air smudgy from various wildfires.

A bumpy flight home, we were strapped in pretty much the whole way due to heavy turbulence.  Lyft home the conversation was all about cyclone Hilary, the driver asking us if we'd seen any of the images coming out of the southern part of the state yet.  No, not yet.  He gave us an update.

On the flight up to PDX last Thursday evening I'd seen lightning in the distance looking eastward.  I watched it until out of view.  I wondered.  Firefighters were already battling lightning ignited wildfires in Klamath National Forest and Siskyou County.  Not good.

The state of our State.  Burning at one end, flooding at the other.  Busy month for CA.

Extra, coming in to land at SFO, another bridge, San Mateo Bridge.
