Office with a View!

The Harbourmaster’s Office, The Pierhead Building, Cardiff Bay

With my Bus Challenge friend, a fab day out, travelling over the border to Wales and Cardiff. The day started overcast but by the afternoon warm sunshine. The day in brief-ish!

- Train into Bristol, second train to Cardiff
- Bus from station to Cardiff Bay (a free ride as ticket machine broken!)
- Walk along waterfront to Norwegian Church to see monument to Scott who set sail for the Antarctic from Cardiff, to do some Christmas shopping in the craft gallery, and have a hot chocolate in the café
- Visit to The Senedd, home of the Welsh Parliament
- Was treated to a very belated birthday lunch (last year’s birthday) on the waterfront: Welsh Rarebit and Prosecco!
- Visit to The Pierhead Building, Grade I listed, built in 1897 as the headquarters for the Bute Dock Company
- Boat trip across the bay and up the River Taff to Bute Park
- A wander and an ice cream in Bute Park, with views of Cardiff Castle
- Back through the city centre to the station, stopping off at the indoor market to buy freshly baked Welsh Cakes
- Train to Bristol, train home

Loads of extras relating to the day if you’re interested in joining me on my travels around Cardiff; my way of remembering what I did.

(Thank you for your kind stars for yesterday’s backblip, Monday, that was actually a blip for Sunday. Another backblip today, Tuesday, for yesterday, Monday! Off on another mini adventure tomorrow, Wednesday, providing I can remember what day it actually is!!)
