What Is It?

It's not really a mystery, but it was the markings that interested me. Original shot in extras.

We both slept a bit later than usual this morning, and I almost forgot about our Pilates on the floor class this morning. It got us moving and we went from there to Spring Lake for a walk with Spike. It was cool in the shade and warm and humid in the sun. I think the majority of the tropical storm or whatever has moved on and the weather is returning to a more normal pattern for the area.

We rested on several shady benches, had an interesting conversation with a man who had two beautifully behaved Brittany spaniels, one of them rescued after being kept in a crate for 8 months. He said Brittanys are the only hunting breed that points and retrieves. I told him how Ozzie loved to retrieve sticks from a body of water. He wouldn't look at the person throwing the stick but would look out over the water, wait for the splash, and then swim to it and bring it back. Definitely a retriever, not a pointer. Spike does everything by scent and sound, but loves retrieving...when he's willing to put down his Kong.

We stopped by the French bakery for bread and a sandwich and made a note to go back to the same little shopping center to the Mexican ice cream store. They have not only delicious ice cream in interesting flavors, but agua frescas (my favorites are watermelon and horchata, fruit bars (paletas), smoothies, and specialties like an Açai Bowl, Bionico (diced apple, cantaloupe, mango strawberries, shredded coconut and Lechera (condensed milk). It's possible to order online, but where's the fun in that?

Tomorrow is a busy day but maybe Thursday....
