Cabbage White

Spotted this very busy Cabbage White getting sustenance from the lavender flowers in the Lingholm Walled Garden.

After our wander we enjoyed a wonderful cuppa and cake in the Lingholm Kitchen.

The walled garden sits on the same spot as the old Lingholm kitchen gardens which Beatrix Potter credited as her original inspiration for Mr McGregor’s garden in the Tale of Peter Rabbit. Peter, himself, stands at the entrance to the garden ready to welcome all visitors.
