Who Rules the Roost...

... controls the Feeder.
The Am. Goldfinches are in full colour now with the cocks crowing their hearts out for love of the more drab but willing hens. This saucy fellow stood atop a feeder bellowing for all his worth outside the bedroom window. [It's taken through the open window but closed screen]. Several others were nipping at the sunflower seeds further away.
Just below him is a nut feeder that has held peanuts in the winter. Since they could not be found in the grocery nut department I bought a bag of raw almonds. Almonds are a Hit!! For a first few days only mrs. woodpecker was nibbling pecking away at this rich sweet tidbit and no else else dared to trespass. Then, the equally large bluejay discovered the hoard. And this morning an annoying flock of starlings went nuts over them (Sorry, couldn't help myself) and refused to let even the bluejay have a share.
So, this blip is a discovery announcement for unblanched, unsalted whole almonds to keep the birds you wish to blip at the feeder long enough to click.
