The wattles (Acacias) have been wonderful this year. This is a sprig of Black Wattle (Melanoxylon) that grows in a neighbouring garden. It lacks the bold gold of some wattles - like the A. alata on our fence line - but its  delicate, pale flowers stand out well against the dark fissured trunk.
