By the Thames

Today was the day that the work of the last few weeks came to an end. We finally said farewell to Alan's old friend Ruth. The funeral service went well and was conducted very sensitively. Afterwards a group of her friends spent a couple of pleasant hours chatting at a riverside pub. They enjoyed looking at a small album of photographs of Ruth.

On our way we called at the pub we had hoped would be nice for the get together. It was charming. This is the view of the Thames we had as we ate our lunch. This Port of London vessel gave a new meaning to litter picking.

It was a long day, but much appreciated by the group of friends.
