While on my runs

Manukau Harbour

After a lovely long visit from daughter C I had a brisk walk seeking a blip for today. At the corner with Scenic Drive there was no unimpeded view of the city centre. So I settled for a photo taken looking towards the other harbour.

Tamaki Makaurau/Auckland is situated on an isthmus between two harbours. On the east is Waitemata Harbour and on the west is the Manukau Harbour. There are many spots along Scenic Drive where it is easy to look to the east, towards the Waitemata Harbour and the city centre, and also to the west, towards the Manukau Harbour.

We are lucky to stay in such a beautiful city.
