Perfect pub

We had a lovely family dinner for a belated family celebration of @xtoph1 ‘s big birthday and for s-in-l Sarah’s more recent one.  The day was cool with heavy showers and I raced around getting food for tomorrow’s lunch. I made my regular Claudia Roden almond cake which goes beautifully with any fruit or ice cream.  In the early evening, V, Hannah and I set off for a six o’clock start only to find everyone else was coming at 6.30 so this is a picture of the drink we had in the garden before everything got started.  It was a lovely meal in Horse-guards Inn in Tillington just by Petworth.  Only family except Guy and Anne.  It was good to catch up with them.
