Wanderings & Witterings

House

A day filled with a variety of church-related activities, made busier than originally intended by some late changes of dates.

Our regular Sunday morning service was followed by a picnic in the afternoon in Cumbernauld House Park. This was intended as a get-together for all of the local Church of Scotland congregations, but wasn't as well or as widely supported as those whose idea it was had hoped. However some of the younger children there seemed to have enjoyed themselves with all the games that had been laid on.

Back at my own church in the evening for a Summer Songs of Praise singalong, and an opportunity to sing some favourite hymns chosen by a vote over the last few weeks.

Finally a chance to put my feet up and catch up with some TV programmes I had recorded. Assuming I stay awake long enough.

Today's Blip is of Cumbernauld House, built around 1731 to a design by the architect William Adam. It sits, unsurprisingly enough, in Cumbernauld House Park where we were this afternoon.
