Sandwiches All Over

Another day, another turd polished.

Glad to see our garage not knocked down after much working out in my head. The concrete panels around the doorway have been so badly corroded due to the original wooden frame loosening everything including the base fittings on the panels, that demolition was on the cards at one point, but with a 3 grand quote to do just that and remove the rubble to nowt kinda put us off(!) We went for a new roof last week which has reassured me of no more leaks!

The wood here wasn't cheap as everything has gone up in price since Covid, but had the option of strengthening the whole opening by sandwiching the concrete back together using monstrous M12 coach bolts and lashings of Gripfill. Now the whole garage feels solid thanks to both the new roof/beams and the Steam Punk/Stone Henge style door frame.

All I need now is a proper workshop.....
