Sunshine

It was a lovely sunny morning after a very cold start.  I went down to the garage to clean off any remaining paint stripper from the bedside tables and MrMacD did some gardening.  We also went through the quotes we’ve received for double glazing and solar panels, as we need to make some decisions.

After lunch, just for a change, we didn’t walk down to Mitre10.  I had coffee to grind, and the resulting mess to clean up, and some sugar water to mix up for the bird feeders, which have proved a big hit with the tiny birds.

MrMacD suddenly got a call from a chap at Oamaru Glass to say he’d be up to see us in 20 minutes.  It took him a lot longer than that, but he eventually arrived, looked at the two windows with wooden frames that we want to keep and surprised us with how they can be changed to double glazing.  He took all the measurements and will get back to us with the quote.

After he left we set off, somewhat later than we’d planned, to walk to the Little Blue Penguin Colony where we’re going to view the penguins on Wednesday night.  We wanted to check how far it was and how long it would take us to get there.  As we turned to walk back home the sun was setting in the west and the sky was rather dramatic.  I’ve also included a photo of the stained glass window in our bedroom.
