The life & times of Jacks

Venezia

Well, we finally made it to Venice.
After getting off the ship we had 2 trains back to Venice.  Then the walk from the station to the hotel.  Oh boy, dragging 2 big suitcases through Venetian streets in the midday/ early afternoon sun is not easy work.  A 7 min walk felt like 20!

The hotel was nice, welcoming and the room, while a little small was lovely.

After getting settled in we went out for an initial exploration/ walk.  It's easy to wander around Venice - not big at all.  I'm not really sure there's as much of a need for all the water taxis/ buses etc.  We wandered around and saw Rialto bridge - it was absolutely heaving with tourists.  Gentle and easy day of it enjoying Venice.  We did struggle with foods etc after eating so much on the cruise.  I think also while we were happy to see Venice, we were missing Phoebe, Rosie and Nibs and kinda ready to be home.  Still I did love Venice.  Phenomenal little city steeped in history.
