The water jump

This water jump has got wider over the years and is very deceiving as one runner found out today, when trying to leap the creek in a single bound he slipped and fell over, but not in the creek. Today I had Millie running as fast as she could and she did and gave it a bit more on top of that,Millie is training to run a maximum of 4km, her choosen distance is 3000m on the track. Today at the Norrie Cup Cross Country, Millie had to run 6km and this is a warm up race before the New Zealand Secondary Schools Cross Country Champs next week. When Millie finished she was well and truely exhausted, and then says the last 2km let her down and she slowed down. Millie ran the 6km in 23:49 the easiest way to explain to her about her superb performance was like this. Millie ran 2 sub 12min 3km runs back to back which equals a 40minute 10km which is pretty good for a 16yr old girl.
