The Lozarithm Lens

Loki, God of Mischief (Friday 1st September 2023)

Loki did put in a brief appearance at his home at C.'s in Trowbridge this afternoon while we were in the garden, and was very active rolling around on the ground close to the camera. Consequently very few of the pictures were at all sharp, but this last one was.

I hope to be taking many pictures over the weekend but won't be in a position to process and upload any before Monday.

Lozarithm's Lozarhythm Of The Day:
Byrds - The Times They Are A-Changin' (recorded 1 September 1965, Columbia Studios, Hollywood CA)
I had problems finding an LOTD with relevance to the date, but finally found this potential single recorded on this day and released in December 1965 on the album Turn! Turn! Turn!
The protest song was written by Bob Dylan in September and October 1963. He recorded it first as a demo and then on 24 October 1963 for the title song of his third album, released in January 1964, after the Byrds version.
The Byrds had recorded Dylan songs for their first two hit singles, inventing folk rock in the process, and planned to make this their third, but the band, particularly David Crosby were dissatisfied with both the song and their performance, so dropped it. They instead released the single Turn! Turn! Turn!. The session was disrupted by the surprise appearances of George Harrison and Paul McCartney in the control booth, apparently preventing them from completing work on the song.
