Red Squirrel ( Sciurus vulgaris )

Not one in the garden!  When we went to the Terry Abrahams film Cumbrian Red - Saving our Red Squirrels we heard about a colony which were easy to see.  So this morning we made our way out to Shap Wells.  Coffee in the hotel and then off we went.

The story of my life, I had the wrong lens!  Again!.  I had taken the 400mm but the squirrels came so close I had to keep backing away because it wouldn't focus closer than 3.5 m.  It was worth the time and effort, we were told there were 26 squirrels in the colony and we must have seen the majority of them
