Almost Home

Heading over the Dean Bridge a bit before midnight, not that many folk about at this time of night now the Festival has finished. I’d been in Ryries at a leaving do for Mark who’s finally retired from S&N/Heineken after far too many years at the coalface. Lots of old faces there (though mostly not as old as mine) and after being away since 2004 I struggled a bit to match some of them to names. Happily no one was talking shop but just catching up on where life has led them. In Donald’s case that’s back to Heineken - hard to believe but apparently it’s money for old rope so he’s OK with it!
