We decided to walk at the opposite end of Channel side , rather than by the Dock Museum*

It was sunny and pleasantly warm without getting too hot. We didnt plan to walk up to the top but Fletch seemed happy enough.  Someone has erected a seat at the very top so we were able to sit there and watch the view while Fletch had a rest.  

It's amazing to realise that this huge hill is simply made of the slag deposited there from the iron and steel works.  Go back in time 150+ years and the land would have been flat fields at sea level.

A very pleasant day.

* Found out later that Flavia13 had gone to the Dock Museum and had a stroll there. If wed done our usual walk we would have probably seen her as we were out at the same time! A shame we missed her.
